We have a centrally located gallery in Marrickville, with 4 rooms and hallway available
for individual or group hire. Professional hanging system is installed.

some of the lesser known spots of beauty and fame in the area. These postcards are free and
available through out local  businesses across Waverley from June through to August 2011.

International Contemporary Artists: Call to artists

Artists are invited to submit their work for review in order to be
selected for the third volume of “International Contemporary Artists”,
a series of international art books. The book will provide an in-depth
look at global art, appealing to professional and emerging artists,
opening out the world of art to a wider audience.

The publication is already in progress and early submissions are recommended.

If you are an artist or gallery, interested in this project, we would be
delighted to review your submission.  As in volume I the book will include
paintings, sculptures, installations, digital art and photography, showing
in each page the individuality of each artist and different styles of expression as well.

Emerging and established artists are welcome to submit their
work for selection in order to be included to the book.

A juried committee will select the artists who will be able to show their
work in a full-color art book. Each selected artist will be presented in the
book in a one-page layout that will include images of his/her work, an essay
or statement and his/her contact information.
You can find additional information about the book here: http://www.incoartists.com

IN SITU: MOSMAN FESTIVAL OF SCULPTURE & INSTALLATION

Saturday 22 to Friday 11 November 2011
CALL FOR ENTRIES
Applications Close: Monday 1 August 2011

In Situ 2011 is a collaborative sculpture exhibition between Mosman Council,
Mosman businesses, the Mosman Village Business Association, Mosman Chamber of
Commerce and participating artists. It comes under the umbrella of the Festival
of Mosman and is a key event in its calendar.

In Situ 2011 will feature both traditional sculptural works and contemporary
installations or 3D works that respond to place, in venues located along the
Military Road corridor from Spit Junction to Mosman Junction. The Festival
provides a unique opportunity to link the best sculptural practices of the
past with contemporary artistic approaches to interpreting and enhancing public spaces.

Submitted concepts for installation (site specific) works are encouraged to
draw on a variety of contexts. These include current site use, its history,
the streetscape, the architecture, the community, the environment and the
relationships and conceptual links that make a site unique. It is envisaged
that the existing sites and shops could also be used to link motifs, concepts,
and symbols that may already exist in the selected artists’ practices.

Artists, especially those proposing installation works, are strongly advised to
discuss their concepts with the Curator prior to submitting. Contact Cassandra
Hard Lawrie on 0425 327 590.

IN SITU 2011 AWARDS

Prizes will be awarded in each of the following two categories:

1) Sculpture – $3,000
This prize is for a stand-alone object that is recognisable to the general
public as a work of sculpture. Works submitted in this category do not need
to demonstrate any linkages with its site or surrounding environment.

2) Installation (may include sculpture or other 3D work) – $3,000
This prize will be awarded to a work that has been created and modified in
response to the environment it is situated in. Installation may include
group of sculptural objects, site specific work or other 3D work.
A separate Application Form for each of the above categories is attached.
Terms and Conditions are stated under each Form.
Refer to the website http://www.festivalofmosman.net for further information or
contact In Situ Curator, Cassandra Hard Lawrie on 0425 327 590.

Please forward on to anyone who may be interested.
