e are proud to announce the launch of Your Name in Lights at the Monnaie de Paris, France.
John Baldessari’s Your Name In Lights, our 23rd Kaldor Public Art Project debuted in Sydney in 2011. Drawing on the imagery from Broadway theatre displays and Hollywood films, the work was first displayed on the facade of the Australian Museum as part of Sydney Festival, giving over 100,000 participants 15 seconds of fame as their names glittered over the city skyline.
The Monnaie de Paris will be hosting the third incarnation of the project from
13 September – 13 October this year, which was also presented at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam for the Holland Festival in 2011. The presentation of the work in Paris is the largest so far, spanning 90m across the top of the the Monnaie de Paris, which stands opposite The Louvre Museum.
