Claes Oldenburg Quote: “We don’t copy the objects we use, we try to transform them and we hope they go on transforming as you look at them. The idea of endless public dialogue.. visual dialogue.. is very important to us.”

Paddington Art Market @ the Barracks was launched on 14 September 2014 and ran weekly on Sundays for 5 weeks to coincide with the City of Sydney’s Art & About program 2014. The market was a great success with over 25 displaying artists, 600 patrons and art sales each week.
The strength of the concept of the art wall is that it creates a gallery atmosphere in a glorious and very public location, providing high end art at street level and artists with opportunities to build their following.
The last 2 markets for 2014 will be held on Sunday 30 November 2014 10.00 am – 3.00 pm and on Sunday 21 December 2014 10.00 am – 3.00 pm to enable Christmas gift purchases!
If you are interested in a place on the wall on either of these days, please email and we will arrange an invoice.
Following consultation with artists it is proposed that in 2015 the Paddington Art Market @ The Barracks will be held monthly on the last Saturday of each month. We will keep you posted.
We thank the artists, the local community and both the Woollahra Council and City of Sydney for their support and we look forward to seeing lots of artists and art lovers at our beautiful outdoor art wall soon.

SAVE TAP GALLERY
The story of the project
Have you been to the TAP?? To save our gorgeous little 50 seat independent theatre we need to raise funds to pay for an upgrade to comply with council fire regulations. The performance space was set up to give Australian playwright a platform for new work. This is so important to get grass roots & fresh writings out in an affordable & popular venue. These fresh new plays & young actors would not usually get an opportunity in other venues in a financially profit driven world.
Over the past 25 years TAP has seen many successes for the performance art events, including best director by the Sydney Theatre Critic Awards.
Everyone who attends our intimate space loves it, getting up close & personal with the actors, who range from well known established actors to first timers on the stage.
Accepting of all, old or young, black or white, gay or straight, all are welcome. We all mingle as one in this unpretentious & iconic landmark which has operated for 25 years.
