The Paddington Art Market @ The Barracks operates each Sunday from 10am to 3pm  commencing 14 September 2014.  From 19 October 2014 the market will be held weekly or monthly, depending on artist exhibitor interest.

The market involves the exhibition of high quality works of art by both emerging and established artists. Entry to the exhibition will be free of charge and proceeds from the art works offered for sale will go directly to the individual exhibitors/artists.

The market is an initiative of Woollahra Municipal Council, together with City of Sydney Council, as part of the program for the revitalisation of Oxford Street and will be initially run simultaneously with the City of Sydney’s Art and About initative.

The market’s objective is to provide a passive, cultural activity for the enjoyment of the greater public as well as providing exposure for artists. It is also anticipated that visitors to the market will flow onto the Oxford Street shopping strip to partake in further shopping and food and beverage offerings.
