Artists wishing to exhibit at the Bondi Pavilion Gallery or the Waverley Library Galleries are encouraged to apply for inclusion under the 2015 Waverley Arts Program.

The iconic Bondi Pavilion Gallery has been hosting vibrant exhibitions for over thirty years exhibiting artists to a diverse visitation on stunning Bondi Beach. The Waverley Library Galleries are situated in the Ron Lander Centre within Waverley Library. The Galleries

Welding Sculptures with David Horton

8 week workshop on Saturdays from 19 July – 6 September, 10.00am – 2.00pm

Back by popular demand, the eminent Australian sculptor and popular teacher David Horton will lead the Welding Sculptures short course. Open to all levels of experience and anyone over the age of 16 years.

Learn fundamental welding skills and complete small-scale welded steel sculptures. David Horton demonstrates techniques including arc and MIG welders, oxy-acetylene to cut, shape and bend steel, ways to grind steel and surface treatments suited to steel. He also discusses the aesthetics of form and space, and introduces you to sculptors who have made significant contributions to the field.

Do you want to learn how to create beautiful photographic prints without a camera? Steven Cavanagh
introduces you to the exciting world of photograms using analogue techniques of the black and white darkroom.
Photograms have an important place in the history of photography and many photographers have explored this exciting process for image making. The possibilities for creative image making are endless and this is a rare opportunity to learn basic darkroom processes. All
photographic materials and chemicals are supplied; bring your own collection of small objects.

The workshop is ideal for people with no darkroom experience and suitable for family groups with children from the ages of 12 years and over.
