THINGS OF INTEREST and Artist opportunities
a dialogue on blue – ARTIST CALL OUT
This is a call out to everybody who engages with blue as a colour. In itself, this is
prescriptive but the sky is blue, the ocean is blue. Brett Whitley’s favourite colour was
ultramarine. Australia’s favourite bird (the Superb Fairy-wren) is bright blue. This colour can
represent the mind and metaphysical depth.
How do you respond to blue?
Iggy + Georgia are co-curating a show in January 2014 and we are inviting artists to explore
blue as colour/concept/emotion. All mediums welcome. Please submit proposals no later
than 5 Jan. Selected works must be delivered to the gallery no later than Mon 20 Jan.
When Wednesday 22 Jan 2014 (opening night), exhibition closes 7 Feb 2014
@ Verge Gallery, Jane Foss Russell Plaza, City Rd, University of Sydney
For more details or to submit a work, please contact Iggy and/or Georgia.

RT SPACE OPPORTUNITY FOR ARTISTS – 2014
CK Gallery and Art2Public join forces to make art space available on King Street Newtown for all artists to be given opportunity to exhibit their artworks. Art2Public is accepting proposals
From 2014 CK Gallery will be focusing on supporting contemporary artists to gain valuable exposure in one of the most popular creative precincts in NSW. Arthur Chan, a sculptor-trained curator, “ I can understand the difficulties in developing a creative career during the first 3 years, particularly in an expensive city like Sydney”. “We would like to provide affordable art spaces for all artists for quality contemporary paintings, photography, sculptures and works on paper; fashion and object design.”, Carolyn Kerr, practising artist and art educator.
CK Gallery is offering the gallery space (15 running meters), curatorial advice and online promotion for selected artists; we are now accepting proposals from artists with developed concepts and driven to strive an artistic career.
Spotlight on Regional Artists
Art2Public encourage artists based outside Sydney metropolitian to showcases at CK Gallery. One of every 3 time slots will provide priority consideration for proposals from regional based artists.

Dear ESP Gallery artists
ESP Gallery needs your help! We’ve had some shows fall through and we need some help with the rent. Or else we won’t be around in 2014. So we’re having a Christmas fundraiser and party! No entry fee this time, and we’ll split the sale price with you 50/50.
All works accepted – we would particularly like small items such as jewellery, cards, prints, scarves etc that would make good Christmas presents! But if you have some awesome bigger works, bring them along. As this is a fundraiser, we want to make sure works sell, so we will cap prices – anything from $10 – $500 is OK.
We’ll be having some fun too. Performances, a raffle, a silent auction and maybe a visit from Santa! Have you been naughty or nice? HO HO HO!!
Deliveries: ESP Gallery, Monday 8 Dec/ Tuesday 9 Dec 4 – 7pm
Opening: Saturday 14 December 4 – 6pm
Show: 14 December – 22 December
