Sculpture by the Sea, Cottesloe 2014 call for artist submissions
Being held from 7 – 24 March, 2014. In 2013 over 200,000 people attended the exhibition during the
3 week exhibition period and over 65% of indoor and outdoor works sold.

It’d be great if you could broadcast our call for artist submissions through your available channels

Please note that the deadline for all submissions is 6pm, Friday 2 August, 2013.

Artist support and subsidies for Sculpture by the Sea, Cottesloe 2014 will include:
The Town of Cottesloe has approved up to $40,000 in previous years to acquire a sculpture for the Town of Cottesloe Collection, with this arrangement expected to continue in 2014;
Aluminium as a material for some Western Australian artists;
Site specific artist subsidies of a total up to $10,000 to be distributed to eligible selected artists;
The $5,000 Andrea Stretton Memorial Invitation to exhibit at Sculpture by the Sea, Bondi 2014;
The $1,500 Sculpture Inside Curators Award; and
A minimum artist subsidy on income of $1,250 for each Western Australian artist who does not otherwise net over $1,250 in sales, subsidies or prizes from the exhibition.

Artists submitting entries to Sculpture by the Sea, Cottesloe 2014 are to please note:
Important changes to previous Application Forms are marked with an asterisk (*);
It can be difficult for the curatorial panel to assess your submission if you do not express your ideas clearly and succinctly with all the requested information; and
Provide supporting material including your CV and images of similar previous works.

The MCA SOCIAL is a fundraising event scheduled for Saturday 20th July, to be hosted by the MCA and the Young Ambassadors. The MCA Young Ambassador Program is a dynamic group of young people (18 – 40) who share the vitality and dynamism of contemporary art and who want to contribute back to the cultural life of the city we live in.
Funds raised on the night are directed towards the MCA Primavera Exhibition, which showcases the creative achievements of talented artists under 35 years old.

The Depot is Firstdraft’s primary studio complex in the heart of Woolloomooloo. Firstdraft is implementing a new studio program of long-term residency opportunities, offering large studios that include Wifi, amenities, free car-parking, basic furniture, natural light and air conditioning. Artists have access to a meeting room, courtyard and basic kitchen. These studios are conveniently located, they are: a 10 minute walk to Kings Cross train station; a 5 minute walk to AGNSW; a 10 minute walk to Artspace and a 15 minute bike ride to Redfern. Within a 100 meter radius to the Depot there is Flour & Stone Bakery (just try the Pannacotta Lamingtons), Toby’s Estate, the East Sydney Pub, and the Cook and Phillip Park Leisure Facilities. Shit Damn! What more could you want!?
