OPENINGS AND THE ARTS IN SYDNEY – 10/09/2012 – 16/09/2012

This week’s ‘In Gallery’ is Mop project, the interview can been seen on our blog at:

On  a sad note, as many of you know Oxford Art Supplies has closed its doors. Oxford Art Supplies began its days in 1964 as a hardware store in the rundown inner city suburb of Darlinghurst. It  was run by Alf and Bessie Altshuler.  In 1974, the owner’s son, David Altshuler, decided to expand the product range to include hand=stretched canvases, artist and student quality paints, brushes and pencils. Since then, Oxford Art Supplies has been serving professional artists, art students, graphic designers, advertising agencies and the complete beginner. We are sad to see you gone.

Check out of listing of arts events as there are many to choose from, you can also subscribe to the blog and get the information straight to your inbox.

Take it easy and play safe.

artists, all under one roof. Plus there are a host of other visual art activities at the Expo, all catering

Broadside Zine ISSUE#4 Artist Callout
The questions of arty folks everywhere have woken B-Side from its slumber and here we are with a neeeew issue callout!
Illustrations, photos, paintings… As long as it looks good in black and white (that’s how we print babes, it’ll still be available in colour online), interesting, and reasonably high res, go fucking crazy. Give us what you got!
Write us a gritty poem, a funny article, a review of your old weird uncle’s home movies (everyone has one of those, right?). Guidelines: Interesting. Thought provoking. Not too wanky. The limit is 1 A4 page, which equates to about 2 of our teeny-tiny pages.
Check out our past issues on our tumblarh or in our facey-b albums over at the official page. We’re hip with the kids now! (nb: technology is incredibly confusing for me and I fear the day my mouse runs out of batteries.)
The DEADLINE is September 15
Send all submissions to or message them to us, whatever.
