dLux is thrilled to announce it after a bit of a struggle in the past year with triennial funding from the Visual
Arts Board being cut, dLux MediaArts is well back on track with a superb new initiative combining art,
science and technology to reach regional and rural Australia.
Looking “outside the square” for ways to meaningfully and sustainably create pathways to learning and develop
cultural practice using digital media has proven fruitful with a significant grant having just been announced for Unlocking Australia’s Potential.
Through The Department of Industry, Innovation, Science, Research and Tertiary Education we will be Inspiring
Australia over the next 3 years around the country with our mobile multi media dLab, getting hard to reach youth
interested and engaged with science through art, technology and a unique methodology.
A total of $5 million has been awarded across the country.
The prime objective of the grants program is to increase the engagement of Australians in science and it has
prioritised projects that engage people who may not have had previous access to or interest in science-communication activities.
Inspiring Australia is an initiative of the Australian Government.

dLux MediaArts is one of Australia’s key screen and media arts organisations, operating within a new convergent space
between screen culture (film) and visual arts (media arts).Through our program of touring exhibitions and other public events,
d/Lux introduces Australian audiences and practitioners…
