Interested in shaping the future of the arts in Sydney’s Inner West?
ESP Annual call out for Directors
ESP Gallery is seeking expressions of interest to become a director of
ESP Gallery & ESProjects. ESP is an artist run initiative (ARI) located in Marrickville.
ESP is run on a not-for-profit, volunteer basis. To ensure the
long term survival of this vibrant art space, we run a revolving director program.
The benefits of being a director of ESP include inclusion in group
shows and the opportunity for a free solo directors show.
All positions require assisting and attending openings, involvement
in the selection of applicants for exhibitions,
gallery sitting, assisting the bump-in and out of exhibitions when
available and attending monthly meetings.
We are a great team and are committed to maintaining a
low cost contemporary exhibition venue for artists.
We are looking for people with the following skills to help out in:
· replying to exhibition applications in co-ordination with the other directors
· amending and updating of email contact lists
· organising exhibition rosters and circulating
ARI liaison in the Greater Sydney area.
· Assist with grant writing and sponsorship deals.
· Possibly writing reviews on our exhibitions and other ARI’s in blog form.
· Promotion of the gallery and exhibitions
· The overseeing of bump-in and out of exhibitions, including prior contact
with exhibitors, collecting of contracts and contacts.
This is a role is expected to run for 1 year, and would require an average weekly
commitment of approx 5-10 hours. The role requires dedication to the ARI cause,
as well as ownership and responsibility to the future direction of the art space.

Proposals for the January – June 2012 exhibition program are due 5pm Friday 26th of August.
Applications via email or post are both welcome.
Kings ARI encourages:
– Artists at all stages or their practice are encouraged to apply.
– Technically ambitious or large-scale projects. Our fantastic volunteers are at your disposal.
– Conceptually ambitious projects.
– Curated exhibitions.
– Written engagement with its exhibitions in the form of both catalogue
essays commissioned by the artists and critical responses to be published
on the Kings ARI website accompanying the exhibition. Kings ARI can put you in touch with writers.
