Stewart F Hobbs
all the same, but different…
In a gesture of openness, connection, shared experience and exchange, I’m inviting people to participate in
‘Art in the Making’… as part of the Opening to my Exhibition / Installation event and my ‘connectivity project’…
…Please join me at midday on the 23rd of April 2011 in the first of an ongoing public installation project.
In a show of unity, art and connectivity… I’m calling on everyone to come and join with me, hand in hand to
make a live ‘people chain’ (plus one Rabbit!)… on the streets of Gloucester. When in this chain, I’d like
you to turn to the person on either side of you and ask for a word of thought from each other and have a dialogue…
Though my own experience, I’ve found this simple idea to be enrich, enlightening and a powerful exchange…
I will be documenting this event (photographing/videoing) so that it will continue in an evolution of
‘Art in the Making’… you will become part of my art… assisting in the notion that art is not just a
static thing to be admired, but a growing, evolving, creative entity. A shared experience of
participation and community…
After this event (I estimate it will take about half an hour) there will be drinks with me (Stewart F Hobbs Esq.)
at the Gallery, which will mark the official opening of my Exhibition & Installation. Here I will invite you to
take something from my sculptural garden, so that the ‘Garden of Art and Community’ will continue to grow in a
world of possibilities… I’m also hoping for a few artistic and creative surprises to happen, so keep your eyes open…
In addition I’m asking those who would like to contribute to the ever growing evolution of my ‘Sculptural Community’…
to donate any old keys, old locks, old credit cards, bank cards (cut up is fine) that you have no further use for…
these items will become part of two new ‘sculptural people’.
