Where you have no control over how you are portrayed and no
one is picture perfect.
At Plump Gallery from 2pm-5:30pm
Portrait Playground has been beautiful experience for everyone involved.
All who have come along have really enjoyed it. Portrait Playground is
a new form of self reflection, new way to observe and get to know people.
It is a simply idea.
We all sit in two circles, one inside the other, the inner circle facing the outer.
The inner circle will keep taking the chair to the left of them when the music stops
(good music I promise but nothing distracting)
Portrait Playground is like speed dating only it is a hundred thousand times cooler
It is not a dating service but there will be lots of babes there and if you make a
good connection I will not stand in your way.

Stock exchange
Swap a secret for a meal, space for time, a memory for a joke, a story for a
bathroom cleaning service, a cooking lesson for a date, a painting for a hair cut …
Inspired in part by the Sol LeWitt’s non-monetary exchanges with other artists,
A Stock Exchange brings together kith, kin and strangers to swap their art, ideas,
time, labour, knowledge, bodies and skills. Coordinated by Amelia Groom, Jack
Jeweller and Robert Milne.

‘Modern Windows’ Photo Exhibition curated by William G. Saussay
Monstrosity Gallery, home of emergent art in the heart of east Sydney,
is looking for artists working with photography, photomedia and video
to submit works for inclusion in a spectacular group show running from
Thursday May 5 – Wednesday May 25. This exhibition will be run in conjunction
with the Head On photo festival, Sydney’s major innovative showcase for
Australian and international photography.

We welcome a diversity of approaches and subject matter. The only restriction
is that you are using image capture of some description as part of the final
work. This could be anything from pinhole photography to mobile phone video to
photocopying and faxing. No theme and no size restrictions
(as long as it fits through the front door!),
but the work/s must be delivered to the gallery by Friday April 29.

We also need a name for this monumental collection. Some reference
to image capture would be useful. Even if you aren’t entering a work,
suggestions for the title of the exhibition are very welcome (ASAP!)

Please copy and paste the entry form below into a new email, attaching
1-3 images of each work you wish to submit for consideration.
Exhibition Dates: Thursday May 5 – Wednesday May 25, with official
opening on Friday May 6, 6-9pm

Entry Criteria: Any work/s which includes image capture in its final
execution. There is no theme. Works must be able to fit through our
door frame (70 cm wide by 190cm high)
Entry Fee: FREE! But there is an administration fee of $30 per work
accepted for the exhibition. Only artists selected to exhibit will
need to pay this fee.
Commission: 30% of the end selling price will be taken by Monstrosity
Gallery as commission

Deadline for emailed submission forms with attached images: 11:59pm,
Friday March 11. Any submissions received after this date will not be considered.
Date for delivery of works and payment of administration fee: All payments
finalised by 6pm, Friday April 29. Artworks delivered:
Between 11am-7pm Wednesday May 4th only. (Interstate/international
artists may post items to arrive before May 4th). Art not delivered
by this date will not be hung, unless prior arrangements have been
made with gallery staff.
Pickup of works: May 26, 11am-7pm only. Due to limited storage space,
any artworks that have not been picked up after a reasonable period may
be given away or destroyed.
(International/interstate artists will need to pay for return postage)
