we will be also closing up towards the end of December 2010 until End of Jan 2011..

NATIONAL ART SCHOOL BRITISH SCHOOL AT ROME RESIDENCY
2011 Conditions of Application

APPLICATION FORM: Deadline Friday, November 19, 2010

The successful applicant will be offered a three-month residency at the
British School at Rome, Italy. The British School at Rome (BSR) is a
centre for research on the archaeology, history, and culture of Italy,
and for contemporary art and architecture. It serves the needs of scholars
and fine artists from the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth.

The successful applicant will receive:
– Studio accommodation to live and work at the BSR for a period of 3 months commencing 3 January 2011.
– A grant for subsistence costs will be available
– A $A2000 allowance towards the cost of travel to and from Italy
– Inclusion in the BSR’s annual fine art catalogue
This Award will be made to an applicant who: –
· has completed a Master of Fine Art or equivalent;
· has displayed a high level of achievement and dedication in their Fine Art studies and/
or professional career and who in the opinion of the judges would benefit artistically through the award
· who can demonstrate clarity of purpose in a study proposal for their period of residency in Rome
· is an Australian citizen or Australian resident and able to comply with visa requirements
· warrants that they are available to undertake the residency for three months beginning 3 January 2011.
N.B. the period of the three-month residency is not negotiable.
All applicants must: –
· complete all parts of the application form, which is available from http://www.nas.edu.au or for collection
from Reception, National Art School, Forbes Street, Darlinghurst, NSW.

All applications will be considered by a selection panel comprising representatives
of the National Art School and independent assessors.

Applicants who are short-listed may be called on to discuss their application and present
examples of work, and should make themselves available to do this during the week of 22 November 2010.

Conditions of Entry
· Applicants must abide by all the regulations of the award.
· The selectors’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
· The successful applicant must strictly agree to abide by
the conditions of residence at the BSR.
· The selectors reserve the right to withhold the award if in their opinion the
standard of applications is insufficient to warrant awarding.

Interviews for shortlisted applicants: week of 22 November 2010
All applicants notified of outcome: week of 29 November 2010
Residency begins 3 January 2011

Charlatan Ink LLC New York has launched earlier this year the international juried
2011 CHARLATAN INK ART PRIZE for the Visual Arts, which will be held biennially in
New York from 2011 onwards and which will travel every other year around the globe.

The Prize is open to all visual artists and visual art practices.
The Theme for the Inaugural Prize is :
