THINGS OF INTEREST
The hunt is on for artists for Poly Gallery’s december show called Restriction.
“Journey into the world of the bound. Deep beneath the surface of modern society
sleeps the shackled beast. Artists portray restriction in all it’s forms. Social,
physical, emotional & mental. Taking the viewer on a sometimes-challenging ride
into the places they dare not go. Exploring pain, adversity, pleasure & taboo.
We ask you; what is your restriction?”
Artists are asked to explore what restriction means to them. This is a multi faceted
exhibition and all mediums of art are encouraged. From sculpture, video, graphic,
digital, traditional painting, sketches etc.
We are planning to have a rope bondage display & also encourage artists to delve
into the physical side of restriction as well as the societal, emotional and mental sides.
For this show we are searching for artists that push the boundaries and the
limitations of the viewer.
We are also keen to have any performance artists who would like to perform on
the opening night. In keeping with the theme of the show the performance must
contain a restrictive element. Be that as you creatively interpret it.
If you feel your work can represent restriction or this theme sparks your
creative juices then please submit your work.
We will be selecting 12 artists for this show.
